Does any one have any advice or favorite places to go in the Illinois area? It is for a group of boys who are older and have never gone on a backbacking trip. Any advice?

Check out the Ill/Michigan canal near Morris, Illinois, about 65 minutes from Chicago. Hiking, backpacking, and camping. Also: Indiana Dunes, both the State Park and the Nat’l Lakeshore Waterfall Glen – Will County or Dupage County park district, they have a permanent orienteering course Starved Rock state park Matthessian state park, near Starved Rock, but much less crowded Good luck Joel Roth
