Question:
that, or buy a cheap ball mount hitch rack and attach it either to the bumper or the tough of the trailer with a good sized bolt. I have to disagree with most of Chris’ post. Do not hang 100+ pounds of bikes and rack off the back of your pop-up trailer. It can seriously upset the weight distribution (depending on how it is now). Put the extra weight on the roof or back of the tow vehicle and keep 10% minimum tongue weight on the trailer to keep the tail from wagging the dog. From what I have seen of pop-ups there would not be room on the tongue for 4 bikes, and they would be in the way of the jack and propane bottle(s).
I have done this on trailers with 2 propane bottles and it balances out fine for trailer does not have propane bottles up front there might be room for a 2 bike rack but I have never actually tried this. I forgot to mention that another option is to get a hitch mounted bike rack that has a built in draw bar to attach the trailer after the bikes. Swagman makes one: http://www.swagman.net If at all possible, a roof rack on your tow vehicle might work out best – that way you can set up the trailer at your campsite and still be able to take the bikes away if needed. And you would be able to carry them at other times when not towing. — John Davies Monroe WA USA
The down side being the roof rack will cost as much as the trailer

has anyone seen a website with a rack system that would work on a popup camper. i was told not to mount anything directly to the top because of there being no structure under the tin. only foam. would like something to carry 2 to 4 bikes. thanks If it has a rear mounted spare there are a number of racks you can use on that, or buy a cheap ball mount hitch rack and attach it either to the bumper or the tough of the trailer with a good sized bolt.
